Vegetable Gardening with Kids (2-part class)

Join us in the greenhouse to learn how to grow vegetables through fun, hands-on activities. This class is suited for children in elementary school.
 
When: May 13 and May 20, 2026
Time: 5:00 – 6:30pm
Where: Our greenhouse in Higganum, CT
Fee: $100 per student. Price includes:
  • The class includes three hours of instruction, split into two sessions, with lots of hands-on activities. We’ll look at the life cycle of seeds and tomato plants, learn about cool and warm-weather vegetable plants, discover pollinators and beneficial plants, practice sowing seeds and potting up seedlings, find out how to use recycled items in the garden, and more.
  • We’ll provide everything you need, including soil, containers, extra seeds, and instructions. After the second session, students can take home their cucumber, bean, and tomato seedlings to plant in their own gardens.
  • Each student will also receive a colorful garden guide with information, activities, and a section for plant journaling.
  • Parents are welcome to stay during the class, but it’s not required.
  • All seeds and seedlings are organic.

Do you want to add vegetable gardening to your homeschool curriculum? We can help you get started with a 1-day, 3-hour class, suited for elementary school-aged students.
